Truck finance for owner-drivers, fleets and businesses
Light trucks, tippers, prime movers, rigid trucks and trailers, new or used, from a dealer, auction or private seller. We compare 40+ lenders, including specialist truck and equipment financiers, to find the structure and repayments that suit how your truck earns.
Everything is done by phone, email and e-signature, so it works the same wherever you are in Australia.
Often financed
What we finance
Light and medium trucks
Delivery, courier and trade trucks, including tray, pantech and refrigerated bodies.
Heavy trucks and prime movers
New or used prime movers and heavy rigids for freight and logistics operators.
Trailers
Flat-tops, curtainsiders, tippers, low-loaders and refrigerated trailers, on their own or with the truck.
Used and private-sale trucks
The lender pays the seller once the loan settles and checks nothing is owing on the truck first.
Ways to structure truck finance
Chattel mortgage
The most common option for businesses. You own the truck from day one and the lender holds it as security. Ask your accountant about claiming GST, interest and depreciation.
Finance lease
The lender owns the truck and you lease it for an agreed term, with a residual at the end.
Balloon or residual
A lump sum at the end of the term lowers your regular repayments, which can help cash flow in the early years.
Low-doc truck finance
For self-employed operators and newer ABNs, some lenders accept BAS or bank statements instead of full financials.
Who we help
We help owner-drivers buying their first truck, transport companies adding to a fleet, and tradies and civil contractors who need a tipper or tray truck. Approval depends on your business history, your deposit, the truck itself and the work it will do, which is why comparing lenders matters.
What you'll usually need

FAQs
Can I get truck finance with a new ABN?
Some lenders will consider new ABN holders, usually with a deposit, relevant industry experience or other conditions. We'll tell you upfront which options are realistic.
Do I need a deposit for truck finance?
Not always. Established businesses can often borrow the full amount. Newer businesses or older trucks may need a deposit.
Can you finance an older or private-sale truck?
Often, yes. Lenders set limits on the truck's age at the end of the loan, and for private sales they check nothing is owing on it first.
Do you finance trailers on their own?
Yes. Trailers can be financed separately or together with the truck.
Does it cost anything to use you?
We may charge a broker fee, and we receive commission from the lender. Both are set out in your quote and our Credit Guide before you go ahead.
